Benita Robledo's WoT short Film made a few appearances of her directors reel. There seems to be scenes in the intro and at around .18 and 1.18. From that and the photo's, Narg thinks the film may be a collection of scenes from Egwene's journey from the Two Rivers up until the Last Battle. Just a guess though. Benita still ignores Narg:(....Warning Narg had the bloody song stuck in his head for days!

Apple announced a further two shows this week. A docuseries and a SciFi Drama. That's 6 shows out of the estimated 10 they looking to start with. 4 spots left! Maybe they'll save the best for last!

General Wheel of Time News

Adam for the Wertzone tried to crash blogger with his The Genesis of the Wheel of Time article:
The first idea for Wheel of Time that Robert Jordan had was what can be best described as "a bit crazy". It was essentially George R.R. Martin on acid. This story contains some crumbs of the final Wheel of Time narrative but also significant differences.
Dragonmount.com finally came back online after a two month downtime while the site was updated. Apparently the seals had been weakening and some rats were eating the code...Narg has an interview with Jason Denzel the Webmaster below.

Narg would introduce you but Narg is a firm believer in letting others do the hard work(Trolloc ethics), so give us the the obligitory "who the heck are you?" answer.
Dearest Narg: Trollocs and humans alike are most likely to know me as the founder and webmaster of Dragonmount.com, the big ol’ Trolloc-sized Wheel of Time fan community. Since 1998, DM has be at the forefront of reporting WoT news and providing community and fun.
In addition to all that, I’m a published fantasy writer, working with the same publisher that produced most of Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson’s books. I currently have one book out, with a sequel coming out this summer. I also dabble in things like filmmaking and kung-fu.
What was it about the Wheel of Time that drove you to create Dragonmount?
I began reading The Wheel of Time when I was 16 years old. I’m now turning 40 next month. Way back in the Olden Days (the mid 1990’s), the Internet was still a new thing. People were still using things like AOL and usenets.  When I was in college, I re-read the series in anticipating of a new book coming out (The Path of Daggers). While reading I had this strong desire to talk to people about it. My roommate at the time had read the books but he wasn’t as into them as I was. I wanted to nerd-out on them in a big way.  I reached out to some of the existing WoT forums at the time, but I was given a cold reception. So I decided that if nobody would let me into their WoT club, I would make my own.  I had recently taken a workshop class at my university about basic HTML design, so I put together a page and invited people to visit.  The timing was great because there was a new book on its way, and because other fans were, like me, hungry for a friendly community.
Any new whizbang features in this new updated Dragonmount?
With our 20th anniversary approaching this fall, I wanted Dragonmount to have a fresh coat of paint. It had been nearly 10 years since our last major upgrade.  The site was running well and still had a thriving community presence, despite the fact that the WoT series had been finished. I wouldn’t say there were a lot of new whizbang feaures, but there’s definitely a more modern, fresh look.  Oh, and we’re finally (finally!) mobile friendly. (You could argue that we should’ve been mobile friendly 10 years ago!).  We have all new server hardware and a good foundation to build on from here.
Narg assumes you meet/chatted with RJ a few times, for those who never got to meet him in person, how would you best sum him up?
Larger than life.  Robert Jordan was an impressive man. The first time I saw him was at a Path of Dagers book signing. He was taller than I expected, nearly my height.  (I’m 6’5’’). His voice was remarkable. It was deep, the sort that rumbled your gut when he spoke with authority. He read from Path of Daggers that day, Chapter 24, A Time for Iron. The scene he read was about the Seanchan army preparing for war. Every time Robert Jordan said the word “to’raken” or “sul’damane” or “Asha’man” a ripple of excitement would go through the crowd. With all due respect to my friends Michael Kramer and Kate Reading who perform the audiobooks, nobody reads the Wheel of Time like Robert Jordan.
Ok on to the TV stuff.... What was your first reaction upon hearing Sony Pictures Television was involved with the WoT rights and how optimistic are you now that Sony and Radar will be able to find a home for the show?
It’s been a long, long journey to get to this point. I’m cautiously optimistic that it will at last have found a group with the wherewithal and knowledge to bring it effectively to the screen.
What if anything do you think needs to be changed, cut or updated to make the show work in the current TV landscape?
As much as I love these books, there definitely are aspects to them that might feel somewhat dated if they were adapted directly to the screen. Robert Jordan designed the first book intentionally in such a way that it felt familiar. That’s why we start out in a sleepy village with a group of humble farmers and orphans who are thrust into a big adventure when the Evil Dark Riders come looking for them. RJ’s goal was to make you think you were going to get a traditional, predictable adventure, but then, boom, he flips the script on you around the time the characters arrive in Caemlyn.  I frequently tell new readers that if you can get that far, then you’re in for a wild ride after that.  Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, does it as good as Robert Jordan when he finally finds his stride in books 2-5.
Also, the show would need way more Narg. In fact, it might be cool if Narg was one of the ta’veren.
If Narg bribes the Casting Director to give you the opportunity to cast just one character, which character would you pick and who would you cast?
Oh, man, it’s been a while since I did those WoT casting things. Remember how I said I read the books in the mid 90’s? Back then, I thought Winona Ryder would be the best Min ever. And back then, it would’ve been true. Google photos of her from 1993 and you’ll see what I mean.
But today? I think I would cast Kate Winslet as Moiraine. I really believe that if you’re going to cast a major actor or actress in a role, it should be Moiraine and Lan (and maybe Ba’alzamon). Kate has an undeniable presence about her, as well as strength, beauty, and focus. She’s everything we would need to see in Moiraine, who is our first look at an Aes Sedai in the series.
Other than the "new, not so purple" Narg plushy, which piece of WoT TV merchandise are you most looking forward to?
Maybe this is a sore subject, considering who you are, but I would love to see a new heron-marked sword. I own one of the Museum Replicas blades, and it’s very cool. I’d love to see an updated take on what the sword and heron would look like.  Plus, it’s been a while since I acquired a new sword for my collection.
Ok now for something close to Narg's heart. The Creator once said: "A Trolloc, however, bears a twisted, or corrupted soul, and would be reborn as a Trolloc". Nargs question to you is, do you think this is fair? What sort of message does that send little impressionable baby Trollocs who want to grow up to be good like Narg? No matter what Narg or those sweet little trolloclings do, we are doomed! Now Narg doesn't endorse the DO's methods but just maybe the Wheel does need to be broken, How is repeating the same things over and over again and denying Trolloc souls a chance at redemption a good thing?
You cannot argue with the Creator, Narg. But at the same time, I think you’re already doing great things for Trollockind. “Be the Change you want to see in the world,” right?  You have the unique opportunity here to be the start of something special.  There are seven Ages to the turning of the Wheel. Who’s to say that the 5th, 6th, and 7th Ages aren’t filled with peaceful societies of Trollocs? Maybe, in the 7th Age, it is the trollocs who must face the Dark One?
Hold your muzzle high, brother.
It would be remiss of Narg not to give you the opportunity to plug your "Mystic" trilogy...plug away!

Thanks! My style of writing is very different from Robert Jordan’s (you can see that simply by looking at our book lengths!), but at the same time, it’s impossible for me to have been this big of a fan for so many years and not be influenced by him.  The Mystic Trilogy is a series that explores similar themes to the Wheel of Time. Like Jordan did, I begin the series with somewhat familiar tropes and settings, but as the books continue, it goes, I think, to places that very few writers have explored. The first book, MYSTIC, is my take on the timeless “apprentice” story where a young and eager person seeks out a master and begs them to become their teacher. It’s a fun story, clever in its own way, and I hear from a lot of people that they feel entranced by it.

Book 2 in the series, MYSTIC DRAGON, dives into the darker aspects of this world, including betrayals, abuse,  heartbreak, and depression. I wrote it during a very challenging time in my life, when my personal life was very much on fire. There’s nothing directly in the book related to my life or experience, but I think it reflects the turmoil I had going on in my life at the time.

I’m currently working on MYSTIC SKIES, the concluding volume of the series. To say what it’s about would give too much away, but I’m pretty confident that it a unique tale in many ways. Together, the three MSYTIC books are greater than the sum of their parts and tell the story of one woman’s journey through life as a seeker of enlightenment and social peace.

Outside of these books I have quite a few projects brewing. I’ve got a computer game tie-in novella coming out later this year, along with possibly some shorts and two top secret projects. I’m already 1/3 of the way through my next major novel, as well, and now that I have some more writing experience under my belt, I think this fresh idea is awesome and it’s going to blow your hooves off.
Narg would like to thank Jason for the flattery and for answering some questions.

Go have a looksee at the new site and while you're there have a listen or read the transcript of Jordan speaking at a signing event back in 2003.

Speaking of Heron marked blades. This one by Fable Blades would be nice:

Narg came across this sexy but rare female Trolloc:

A Survey of Wheel of Time reddit users was conducted last week. HERE are the results.
One of the Facebook groups decided to follow suit. Results HERE.

The above is probably more of a reflection of the demographics of Reddit users v Facebook users but Narg found them the most interesting. There wasn't much difference in the WoT specific questions that Narg could see. Thanks to Mike and Jesse.
